The activities in this kit focus on developing a better understanding of why periodic trends occur in the elements.
- Kit teaches students to look for patterns as they conduct experiments
- Students learn why the periodic table looks as it does
- Graduated plastic pipette included
- Two sets of experiments
Students perform two sets of experiments focusing on the alkaline earth metals and the halogens groups. In the first set of experiments, students search for patterns as they look at the reactivity of the alkaline earth metals.
The second set of experiments form small amounts of solubilized halogen gasses as a colorful way of measuring reactivity within the halogen group.
