Perform an electrolytic redox reaction to create tin crystals in a solution.
- Understand and demonstrate electrolysis redox reactions
- Aligned to NGSS practices
The electrolysis of a tin (II) chloride solution demonstrates the oxidation and reduction of Sn2+ ions as beautiful tin crystals grow and spread throughout the solution. There are enough materials to complete the demonstration five times.
