Students measure the mass of an object based on oscillation rather tha Earth's gravity.
- Three masses change the oscillation rate
- Balance clamps conveniently to the edge of a table
- Discuss the difference between gravitational mass and inertial mass
A demonstration kit for the comparison of "mass" vs. "weight". A platform is supported on spring-steel strips which is made to oscillate in the horizontal plane under various loads. Two trays, 130×50 mm, help approximately 200 mm apart. One tray has holes to take the three equal mass cylinders of size 100 mm length and 2 mm diameter. Three support pins to fit inside the cylinders are included.
Delivery information: Includes balance arm, adjustable weights, and clamp for attaching objects.
