One out of every 17 people in the U.S. is, or will become, diabetic in his or her lifetime. In this activity, students learn about the relationship between blood sugar and diabetes. They study the symptoms of and various treatments for different types of diabetes. Students review several case studies and analyze the Ward's Simulated Blood and Simulated Urine samples of “patients.” After making determinations, students suggest a treatment.
The activity includes a teacher’s guide, a student copymaster, and material for six setups.
Ordering information: This kit includes glucose comparator charts, glucose test strips, spot plates, and simulated blood and urine samples for initial and final testing.
