Students learn to recognize the difference between work and energy with this apparatus.
- Two Resistance Bands Included
- Instructions Included
- Students Calculate the Amount of Power Generated through Photogates
- Purpose for Students: to Understand the Difference between Energy and Work
A resistance band is attached to the handle of the apparatus, which can be pulled back to various distances. Students measure the time it takes to pull the handle back and calculate the amount of power generated through photogates, which can be attached to the bottom of the apparatus.
They see that the amount of energy being transferred remains the same, but the rate of the work being transferred is different. Photogates are required but not included.
