Ice Melting Blocks are a unique way to teach principles of conductivity of heat and the scientific method.
- Instructions Included
- Two Blocks Look Similar but Have Different Construction
- One Block Seems Cold, One Block Seems Hot
- Students Learn Principles of Conductivity
- Demo Uses Scientific Method
They consist of two blocks of similar appearance but composed of different materials. One block seems cold to the touch, and the other seems warm.
Teachers ask students if they think it would take longer for an ice cube to melt on the cold block. Teachers then place an ice cube on each block and watch the dramatic difference in how fast they melt. Instructions are included.
