Each student paints a model of the Earth. Using simple math they then determine how far from the equator to make the Tropic of Cancer and Capicorn.

They also determine the angle of the tilt of the Earth and the distance from true North to place the poles. Using the included stencil, students paint the Western Hemisphere of their model. Using the sun and their Earth models, each group models the seasons. Revolution and rotation are also discussed as are the constellations of seasonal skies. Includes materials for seven student groups and a teacher’s guide.
