Melting point capillaries are sealed with samples inside and placed inside a melting point apparatus, which is then heated in order for the user to observe any phase changes from solid to liquid and when they occur. Tubes are manufactured from borosilicate glass and feature openings on one or both ends. The tubes are uniform and are cut at right angles.
